John Lennon, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Mitch Mitchell :: "Yer Blues"

So I just found this AMAZING performance (from December 11, 1968) of John Lennon performing the Beatles' song "Yer Blues"--which is one of my favorite Beatles songs--with probably the most talented makeshift band of all time.

Accompanying John: The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, Cream's Eric Clapton, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience's Mitch Mitchell. It is the first time John ever performed publicly without the Beatles, but not the first time I've ever had a music-gasm.

* The lines "my mother was of the sky / my father was of the earth / but I am of the universe / and you know what that's worth" are among my favorites John ever wrote. Siiigh...

**Credit where it's due: I found the video on when you awake, which is a music blog I check pretty much daily. It focuses mostly on neo/alt-country, americana, folk, blues, and well...you get the picture. You should check it out if you have any interest in those genres cause it's quality.
