The NHL playoffs start tomorrow night and my Washington Capitals are facing off against one of their semi-local I-95 rivals, the New York Rangers. After last year's devastatingly premature playoff exit courtesy of the 8th-seeded Montreal Canadiens, I approach tomorrow night's game (and the first-round series of which it is a part) with an internalized quiet nervousness, which I can only hope is punctuated by a shit ton of the kind of alcohol-fueled, fist-bumping, high-fiving and stranger-hugging camaraderie that only the playoffs can provide. Ovi, no matter what happens this time around, I'll still love you and the rest of the guys. But kick some fucking New York ass, and let's get on to the next round (and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, too.)
